Angela Evelyn Bassett has been an American actor since the late 1980s. Since the mid 80s she has been working in film and TV. Her work has been recognized with several awards, among them sixteen NAACP Image Awards. Bassett was born at Winston-Salem North Carolina, raised by her aunt and Uncle in New York New York. Bassett along with her sister aged five, old, made the move out of New York and into St. Petersburg to live with their mother, who was the divorced father. Bassett was in high school when she watched James Earl Jones staring John Steinbeck play Of Mice and Men and realized that her desire of becoming an actor had been realized. In 1980, Bassett was graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut with an undergraduate degree in African American studies. She earned a diploma from the Yale School of Drama. While at Yale she came across Courtney B. Vance a actress who was a friend of hers. They married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. BA. (Afro-American studies) in 1980. An M.A. in Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett plays Ramonda as one of the main parts in the action film i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda forever (2022).
