Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzales-Collins works as an Mexican-American sportscaster. She works as an ESPN news anchor and hosts SportsNation often. Her first assignment with ESPN in 2016. The daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been bilingual since the age of 9. This skill was instrumental in securing her first work at Univision, Miami. She had the opportunity to collaborate alongside national producers on shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then, her CBS station that is located in St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. Her move in Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at one of the Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. The reporter covered stories about drug trafficking and immigration both across the Texas as well as the Mexico the border. She served as a news reporter on the Spanish channel KNVO TV48 Univision and Fox2 News. Also, she was a substitute anchors of sports and weather. Later, she was the anchor and reporter of Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. The station then gave her larger responsibilities. She also did segments on the Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. Besides this, she produced Univision 23's local sports broadcast Accion Deportiva Extra on which she served as the anchor. She was promoted as anchoring sports for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. In addition, she served as an anchor on sports for Primer Impacto, a magazine show that was broadcast on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents hail from Veracruz Mexico. At some point they moved towards Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November in 1985. Her sister is also there. The family moved into Miami in 1992 following the departure from Mexico. In 1992, her parents split soon after. In 1995, she married Fabio Fajardo, an engineer from the navy who passed away in 2006 from kidney cancer. She stayed with her family in Canton Ohio with her older sister in the summertime, in which she was offered a job. Antonietta who was in high school having a clear idea of where she wanted her future to be like, travelled to Mount Union University in order to find out whether the university was suitable for her. She discovered that she was a fan of the campus and also that the university had the degree she was looking for. She finished school and enrolled at the University as a media studies major. The relationship she formed was long-lasting with her teacher Mark Bergmann who was the managing director at WRMU 91.1 FM, of which she was a participant. Professor Mark Bergmann influenced her by his passion about journalism. Additionally, he profoundly influenced her.
